A Buenos Aires family of four needed at least $191,000 in March not to be considered poorwhile to be in the middle class that figure rose to $293,000.
The data of the General Directorate of Statistics and Censuses of the City established that -in order not to be left under the poverty line– family group four members had to have $191,240.96 income, while it required -at least- $107,836.35 so as not to be considered in a situation of indigence. Meanwhile, to be considered middle class that family must have $293,925.58.
In this way, the costs of the Basic Food Basket (CBA)which mark the limit of indigence had a 9.83% increase compared to last month, ranking 2.73 percentage points above the inflation of the period in which Citywhich was located in 7.1%.
Meanwhile, the accumulated in 12 months came to 117.4%, higher by 12 percentage points than the 105.4% of the interannual inflation measurement. In regards to the Total Basic Basket (CBT)which sets the top of the povertyhe monthly increase was 9.23% (compared to February) and the 111.39% year-on-year.
The Total basket (CT) that in different proportions delimits the fragile medium sector, the middle class and the wealthy sectors, rose 9.24% in the month and 110.35% in relation to March 2022.

It is worth clarifying that you can notice a greater increase in the indigence basket than in the basic. This is given by greater relative weight of food in the indigence basket with respect to the total, which includes other goods and services that are not included in the basic food basket.
