In the middle of the shortage of dollars and of the agricultural dollar, The Maritime, Port and Naval Industry Federation of the Argentine Republic (FeMPINRA) ratified the announced measures and, in this way, next Wednesday the 19th they will continue with a total strike of the port workers in the terminals of the Port of Buenos Aires, Dock Sud and in the Zárate-Campana corridor in a claim for a relief in the payment of Profits.
From the Federation, they maintained that in the event of not receiving favorable responses, the protests will intensify and extend in the coming weeks, which will have a full impact on port activity.
“As a consequence of the breaches of the act signed in the Ministry of Labor on November 28, 2022, Fempinra began measures that affect the agro-export complex, some sectors of fluvial and maritime navigation and fishing, and port personnel will also join from Wednesday,” said the leader of the Federation, Juan Carlos Schmid.
Schmid maintained that “the workers demand the elimination or changes in Profits and the repeal of the macrista decree 870/18, for which they said enough”; He assured that “the impact of the force measures was successful” and that there is “great discomfort.”
“Reality hits us ruthlessly, and we have no other resource than the strength of our work and our union,” he added.
Fempinra has already carried out two measures of force in demand of a work table, which at the time concluded with the signing of two acts: one in June 2022, which established a period of 120 days to repeal the decree, and another on last November 28, and demanded “compliance with the signed agreements.”
The current measures were decided by the leadership of the Fempinra headed by Schmid and Raúl Huerta, the previous week.
“The protests will continue for several weeks and cannot be lifted with the issuance of mandatory conciliation by the labor portfolio, since that tool was exhausted after two periods of negotiations and without an agreement. It is essential to repeal the decree and offer answers on Profits,” concluded Schmid.
For its part, the Union of Naval Drivers and Motorists (Siconara) it also defined a measure of force in the claim for Income Tax. The action includes sand carriers, tugboats, fishing vessels, oil tankers and cargo vessels.
