Javier Milei assured that he will cut 13 points in public spending and that he will close state companies

The libertarian candidate affirmed that he will eliminate public works, transfers to the provinces and economic subsidies. He also targeted public companies.

The pre-candidate for president Javier Milei assured that in case of being elected he will quickly eliminate 13 points of spending in the first year of management. He pointed out that he will do so by eliminating public works, transfers to the provinces and economic subsidies. He also pointed out again that he would close all public companies. The libertarian leader will seek to explain to businessmen his plan to dollarize the economy.

Within the framework of the Llao Llao Forum, Milei spoke with Ámbito and other media present at the summit that brings together more than a hundred important businessmen in various sectors. He promised to achieve a fiscal surplus in the first year of his eventual administration and for that he assured that he will carry out a cut in spending that will be between 13 and 15 points.

“I am going to eliminate public works and move to the Chilean private initiative system. The other thing we propose is to eliminate discretionary transfers from the provinces with the theft that this cost implies for the people. The other thing that we are proposing is the elimination of economic subsidies”, explained the national deputy. Between those three initiatives, he said, 13% of spending would be cut.

“Already there I put a nice adjustment. But then you have the issue of state companies, which I believe should be closed because they are basically a mechanism by which politics makes cash by destroying companies. Then the other thing that you have left, that already enters a more complicated line, is the issue of privileged retirements, ”said the Libertarian candidate and added that this second combo would add a cut of another two points.

dollarization

In the talk with businessmen, Milei focused on explaining her plan to dollarize the economy. “I’m going to do my best to explain it simply,” she said before entering the meeting. When asked by Ámbito, the economist acknowledged that it is difficult to estimate the values to which the conversion would be made when the time came to eliminate the weight.

In addition, he said that “there will be no social cost” because the measure will end inflation that hits the most vulnerable between “25 and 30 times harder.” In this sense, he maintained: “I have an adjustment program that is strong enough so that the treasury, instead of being an element that expands money, absorbs money.”

Javier Milei’s word is one of the most awaited by the businessmen of this forum who last year received him as an “outsider” and today they listen to him as a candidate for president who, according to some surveys, could enter a second lap.
