the ENRE will initiate the review for 2024-2028

As of next June 1, the ENRE will begin the Comprehensive Tariff Review process for public electricity distribution services, whose concessionaires are EDENOR and EDESUR.

As of next June 1, the ENRE will begin the process of Comprehensive Tariff Review of public electricity distribution services, whose concessionaires are EDENOR and EDESUR, and electricity transport, whose operators are TRANSENER, TRANSNOA, TRANSNEA, TRANSBA, TRANSPA, DISTROCUYO, TRANSCO and the Neuquén Provincial Energy Entity (EPEN). The Comptroller Walter Martello announced the measure through Resolutions No. 363 and 364/2023.

Within thirty days, this National Entity will prepare the guidelines and development schedule that will govern the process. Timely, it will also call public hearings to evaluate the proposals of distributors and transporters, and to listen to the opinions of the interested sectors.

During this stage, the ENRE will carry out the technical-economic evaluation that will make it possible to specify, for the five-year period 2024-2028, the service quality parameters, the adaptations of current procedures and regulations, and the investments that the concessionaire companies must make.

When starting the RTI process, this National Entity will advance as established by Law No. 27,541, Decrees No. 277/2020, 1020/2020 and their successive extensions, in line with the regularization and predictability established by the decree designating the current Controller.

Regarding this new Comprehensive Tariff Review, Martello highlighted the importance of defining “new quality criteria through a mechanism open to society”. This instance -he assured- “is essential when drawing up an investment plan capable of guaranteeing a true improvement in the public services of distribution and transmission of electrical energy”.
