In October, the increases were agreed upon after a meeting of the Salary Council for Private Home Workers that was held in the Ministry of Labor. In addition to the increases, a new review was agreed for March 2022.

The increases apply to different services in private homes, including domestic workers, landlords, and people who assist and care for third parties, among others.

Months ago, a total increase of 42% had been set in four sections, between June 2021 and May 2022. The agreement in the middle of the year established a 42% increase that began on June 1, 2021 with a rise of 13% and continued with 12% from September 1, 2021.

A third tranche of 5% was planned from December 1, 2021, with an impact on the average Christmas bonus in December. And a fourth tranche of 12% from March 1, 2022. However, 6% is added in November and 2% is added to the 5% previously established for December.

How are the scales

The remunerations as of November 1 are:

Category 1: Supervisor, who carries out the coordination and control of the tasks carried out by the people under his / her charge.

  • Hour with withdrawal: $ 293.
  • Non-withdrawal hour: $ 321.
  • Monthly with withdrawal: $ 36,586.
  • Monthly without withdrawal: $ 40,752.50.

Category 2: Domestic worker / Personnel for specific tasks: those people who were hired to carry out specific tasks, for which they must have adequate knowledge to carry them out.

  • Hour with withdrawal: $ 277.50
  • Non-withdrawal hour: $ 304.
  • Monthly with withdrawal: $ 33,990.50.
  • Monthly without withdrawal: $ 37,837.

Category 3: Domestic / household employee: personnel who perform tasks inherent to the general care and preservation of a home where they live due to the employment contract.

  • Hour: $ 261.5
  • Monthly: $ 33,163.

Category 4: Assistance and care of people. It includes the assistance and non-therapeutic care of people, such as: sick people, with disabilities, children, adolescents, older adults.

  • Hour with withdrawal: $ 261 ,.
  • Non-withdrawal hour: $ 292.50.
  • Monthly with withdrawal: $ 33,163.
  • Monthly without withdrawal: $ 36,957.

Category 5: Personnel for general tasks. Provision of cleaning, washing, ironing, maintenance, preparation and cooking of meals and, in general, all other typical household tasks.

  • Hour with withdrawal: $ 2243.
  • Hour without withdrawal: $ 261 ,.
  • Monthly with withdrawal: $ 29,823.
  • Monthly without withdrawal: $ 33,163.

This week, the Executive Branch regulated the “Registered” program, which aims to encourage the formalization of private house workers through the payment of up to 50% of their salaries, for a period of up to six months.

The national State pays up to $ 15,000 of the salary during a semester, on account of the payment made by the employer.
