Vista Argentina reported the results of the Business Confidence Index, the survey carried out since 2006 by the world’s leading organization of CEOs to Argentine businessmen about the behavior of the economy, inflation, investment and the main problems that companies are currently facing.
The Business Confidence Index reflects the responses of 265 businessmen: CEOs, General Managers and business owners and these are the main data:
– For 85% of businessmen, the economy worsened. For 5% it improved and 10% was maintained.
– In the next twelve months, 73% consider that the Argentine economy will be worse off. 5% better and 22% the same.
The percentage of businessmen who think that the Argentine economy will behave better than a year ago shows a drop from the current period to the previous one.

48% of entrepreneurs believe that the profitability of their companies will decrease, 38% will remain the same and 14% will increase.
In the next twelve months, 40% of businessmen believe that the volume of units sold of their company will remain the same, 32% will decrease and 28% will increase.
The percentage of belief that companies’ profitability will remain the same in the coming months showed a drop compared to the previous quarter.
Investments
For 53% of entrepreneurs, investment in fixed assets will remain the same, 25% will decrease and 22% will remain the same. While 56% of employers believe that the current level of employees will be maintained, 34% will be higher and 10% will be lower. The percentage of belief about the increase in fixed assets showed a drop compared to the previous quarter.

The perception of worsening of the Argentine economy in general continues to mark the highest percentage, starting the 1st quarter of the year with 85%.
Prices and business
For 80% of entrepreneurs, the prices of the products they sell will increase. While for 15% of them it will remain the same and 5% will decrease. Regarding billing, more than 45% believe that it will increase, while 32% will remain the same and 17% will decrease.
The estimate that the volume of units sold in companies for the next 12 months will remain the same showed a rise of 4 points compared to the previous quarter.
