The last time scandal-ridden IT company Augustus Intelligence made headlines, it was a particularly sad occasion. In October 2021, Wolfgang Haupt, the founder of the New York start-up that wanted to shake up the industry with software based on artificial intelligence, died in a helicopter crash in Baden-Württemberg at the age of 34. At first it was speculated that Haupt had been threatened, and there was even talk of death threats. After investigations by authorities, it was later said that the cause of the fatal crash was pilot error.
