The study also shows in July a growth of 5.6% compared to July 2019 and 2.4% compared to July 2018.

In turn, other items also showed increases compared to the same month of 2020: Textiles and leather (63.3%); Motor vehicles (53.2%); Common metals (43.4%); Paper and cardboard (17.9%); Non-metallic minerals (16.8%); and Machines and equipment (9.9%).

While the production of food and drinks in July showed a rise of 5.0% year-on-year, while it accumulated an increase of 2.4% for the first seven months of the year, compared to the same period in 2020.

For its part, the production of tobacco showed a drop of 42.6% year-on-year, and for the period January-July the drop registered was 6.3% compared to the same months of the previous year.

Given these numbers, the Minister of Finance and Finance, Pablo López, assured that: “The performance of the Buenos Aires industry in the course of this year is remarkable. In July, seven blocks presented improvements compared to the same month of 2019 and five exceeded July 2018, which shows that we are witnessing an industrial recovery that goes beyond the pre-pandemic. “

“In addition, eight of the eleven blocks that make up the ISIM-PBA showed year-on-year increases, highlighting textiles, motor vehicles, common metals, paper and non-metallic minerals, all of them with two-digit year-on-year growth,” he said.

From his observation, the industry of the Province maintains its expansive rhythm and is consolidated “as a pillar for the generation of quality employment and as an engine of national economic growth”.
