“Any measure that serves to maintain consumption at the levels we had achieved and to promote the national industry, Cage it will accompany and support it,” said Marcelo Fernández, president of the entity, who remarked that “the increase in the limit of the cards is beneficial to continue producing and generating Argentine work.”

For his part, the president of the Argentine Chamber of the Optical and Related Industry (Cadioca), Norberto Fermani, He explained that “it is essential that the issue of credit in optics can be solved, since the market is crying out for some form of financing.”

“The population in general does not want to get into debt because they are risk averse. If we add to this the fact that credit card limits did not allow any type of possibility of financing a purchase, this perfectly indicates the problem we have with consumption” .

“Let’s hope that this, even somewhat, will improve the situation,” he added.

Another sector that highlighted the impact of the measure was the leather goods sector. The Industrial Chamber of Leather and Related Manufactures (CIMA)Rubén Pallone, emphasized the importance of increasing the limits of the cards, since “if it is about relatively large purchases, people do the interest account against inflation, and can take installments”.

“For small purchases, they prefer a payment so as not to get into debt,” he added.

Finally, from the Sweater ChamberPedro Bergaglio pointed out that “as a merchant, everything that implies an increase in credit will benefit us because sales are very weak.”

“With this measure, people having more credit will be able to improve their consumption,” he said, while warning that the sector views “with concern the high level of the financing rate for this credit.”
