The name, the logo, the equipment: the fast food chain “House of Doner” makes no secret of her commitment to the Netflix series “house of money” to use. The streaming provider Netflix does not like that.

In the five seasons, the gangsters wear these masks during their bank robbery to hide their faces from the public and the hostages. The series became a huge hit, and the masks became a symbol of the struggle against capitalism.
And also “House of Doner” jumped on the train. The entire concept is based on the series, not just the name and logo, but also the design. Netflix, as the rights holder, doesn’t like that at all. Again “Express” reported, the streaming provider is defending itself against the collection of the series by the kebab chain. Netflix’s lawyers have lodged an opposition with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) against the trademark application of “House of Doner” inserted.
Great resemblance to Netflix series “house of money”
“House of Doner” was registered as a trademark with the German Patent and Trademark Office last autumn. The decision in the dispute with Netflix now also lies with the authority in Munich. It could happen that “House of Doner” loses its trademark protection. Yasin Yirmibes, one of the shareholders of the kebab chain, is confident. “We’re in really good talks with Netflix and a solution is on the horizon. We’re going to change the name ‘Haus des Döners’ very slightly, it’s a detail”he told the “Express”. Also against “Rheinische Post” emphasized Yirmibes: “We both want to find a solution that will allow us to walk together peacefully in the future.”

Yasin Yirmibes came up with the name because his wife liked the series so much. The branch in Hürth near Cologne was opened in 2019. There are now 44 in Germany “House of Doner”branches and one in the Netherlands.
