Historical records of income from agro-exports in October and in the year

Thus, the accumulated foreign exchange income from agro-exports in the first eight months of the year reached US $ 28,086.92.

“The amount of last October is a record for that month in the statistics since the beginning of this century and in the entire historical series,” Ciara and CEC, entities that represent 48% of Argentine exports, specified in a statement.

What was settled in October was 40.8% higher than that registered a year ago, but it was 1% lower than what was paid in last September.

Likewise, the inflow of foreign exchange for the first ten months of the year represented a growth of 66.6% compared to the same period of 2020, and an absolute record for the same period since the beginning of this century.

“The predominant factor was the sustained growth in international prices, which compensated for the lower quantity measured in tons. This performance was achieved despite the notable disruptions produced by the downspout of the Paraná River,” the entities stated.

The liquidation of foreign exchange is fundamentally related to the purchase of grains that will later be exported either in their same state or as processed products, after an industrial transformation.

Most of the foreign exchange income in this sector occurs well in advance of export, an anticipation that is around 30 days in the case of grain exports and reaches up to 90 days in the case of oils and protein meals.

This anticipation also depends on the timing of the season and the grain in question, so there are no delays in the settlement of foreign exchange.
