Relief at the preliminary agreement in the US debt dispute had initially pushed the Dax up to 16,079 points on Monday. But then there were no follow-up purchases, the leading index closed slightly in the red. Since hardly anyone on the stock exchanges believes that the USA will default, investors could now concentrate again on the classic stock market topics of corporate profits and economic data, said market analyst Thomas Altmann from QC Partners.
