The former Minister of Labor and National Treasury Attorney, Rodolfo Díaz, presented his doctoral thesis “Oil and Gas Law and Economics” at the UBA Law School. The thesis is dedicated to Carlos Bulgheroni, in memoriam. He analyzes the National Constitution, 15 provincial constitutions, national and provincial legislation and certain specific measures from Frondizi’s oil contracts to the current Gas Plan. The work maintains that the production of hydrocarbons depends on legal regulation and demonstrates it by applying ‘law and economics’ techniques with data covering more than 100 years.
Díaz, who is currently vice president of Pan American Energy, said that the work is a contribution to the promising stage that has opened in the Argentine oil industry.
The Court was made up of the president of the National Academy of Law Juan Carlos Cassagne, the vice dean of Engineering of the UBA Raúl Bertero and the specialist María J. Tavano.
