Compared to previous surveys, this is an unprecedented high value. This is one of the core statements of a study that the personnel consultant Schulmeister, the Controller Institute and the Vienna University of Economics and Business conducted among 450 people.

Commuters and employees who would like to work more remotely, i.e. from a location outside the office, than they are allowed to do are particularly willing to change. The willingness of managers to change is also increasing due to high workloads and increasing complexity. “In order to keep employees who are willing to change jobs, the focus should be on remote work wishes and commuters,” it says. Telework is more important for women than for men.

Sustainability not so important

In order to retain employees, a good working atmosphere is particularly important: 91 percent of the practitioners and 87 percent of the students surveyed said so. Good pay also plays a major role (87 and 84 percent respectively). 83 percent of students say that good promotion and further training opportunities are essential for them. The results with regard to sustainability are surprising: Only 48 or 39 percent of those surveyed named it as an important factor.
