The Economy Minister led a meeting with the economic team to finalize the details of a battery of measures that will aim to sustain economic activity.

The Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, returned from his trip to china and led a meeting with the economic team to finalize the details of a battery of measures that will aim to sustain economic activity.

The meeting took place this afternoon at the Palacio de Hacienda, where they were present Massa together with the Secretary of Economic Policy, Gabriel Rubenstein, the Secretary of Productive Development, José Ignatius of Mendigurenand Finance, Eduardo Setti.

The head of the Treasury returned from China with the Asian government’s commitment to extend the free availability of the swap. The People’s Bank of China sealed the agreement for US$19 billion for three more years, including US$10 billion freely available, divided into two tranches.

The signature reached with the Chinese authorities will allow the government to go through the following months with less pressure on the reserves. In addition, the minister is expected to travel to Washington, USA, on June 18 to seal a new agreement with the IMF that allows it to advance new disbursements and thus reduce macroeconomic risks.

In this context, Massa brought together the economic team to move forward with new measures of incentives and promotion to the industry and of benefits for working sectors.

As advanced from Economy, the main measures on which the different areas will be working will be a new regime of Promotion of the Automotive Industry and a new regime of prizes and credits to the monotributo.

In addition, they will analyze one of the issues with the greatest effect on the working sector, such as the payment of Earnings in the Christmas bonus, weeks after the Complementary Annual Salary begins to be paid.

On the other hand, they will outline a proposal for a voluntary debt swap to improve the financing of the National Public Sector and they will advance with the concretion of the transfers to agricultural and poultry cooperatives of the promotion programs.

Likewise, Economy will continue with the follow-up of the complaints made before the secretariat of exchange evaders.

Also participating in this afternoon’s meeting were Juan José Bahillo (Agriculture); Ricardo Casal (Legal and Administrative); Flavia Royon (Energy); Matías Tombolini (Commerce); Fernanda Avila (Mining); Marco Lavagna (International Financial Economic Affairs); Juan Manuel Cheppi (Knowledge Economy).

Also present were Leonardo Madcur (head of advisers); Guillermo Michel (Customs); Carlos Castagneto (head of AFIP); Lisandro Cleri (BCRA vice) and German Cervantes (Undersecretary of Commercial Policy and Management).
