The launch of Transfers 3.0 will promote digital payments and favor greater financial inclusion in the country, as highlighted.
“Just with a phone, users can read any QR code with any virtual wallet or bank application” , indicates the Central Bank.
Transfer Payment is like paying in cash but with the phone. For people, operations are easy, safe, fast and free, and for businesses they are immediate, irrevocable and have lower costs.
The one of the Payments with Transfer implies that “the normative acceptors will have to open the QR codes so that they can be read by all the wallets”.
In addition, “Payment Service providers (PSP) that offer their customers the possibility of reading QR codes must adapt their systems to enable the reading of all their QRs associated with any payment request, without discrimination”.
To achieve interoperability, the system participants in their different roles – be they wallets or acceptors – will need to connect with one of the administrators of the three payment schemes: COELSA, Red Link y Prisma.
All participants who are not properly integrated into a scheme as of November 29 will not have access to the National Payment System, as reported.
