Looking ahead to June 18, Focus Market prepared a report based on 9750 cases that provided details about this form of celebration.

Father’s Day: areas of greatest purchase
- Clothing (14%)
- Wines and spirits (12%)
- Computer TV and Video (10%)
They are followed to a lesser extent: with 9% Smartphones and Experiences (dinners and picnics, for example). With 8%, there are Footwear, Sporting Goods and Tools; with 6%, Perfumery; with 5%, Bookstore and Articles for the home/private use; and with less than 4%, Gifts, Jewellery/Watches and Leather Goods.

“This is the first trading date of the year for businesses”, says Damián Di Pace, the director of the consultancy. He adds that “retail sales according to the CAME have a fall of 1.7% accumulated in the year, for which for the commercial sector it is an important opportunity to attract demand”.

The projection of average gift spending for Father’s Day is expected to be $15,750. To obtain this amount, different gifts that can be found in the Facebook Marketplace were revealed, ranging from $2,000 to $16,000.

- In the range of $2,000 to $7,500 you can find: a ceramic mate and bombilla, black shorts, a scarf and hat, a “super dad” t-shirt or long underwear.
- If you can spend between $8,000 and $12,500, find: a matero breakfast (delicious things + mate set), complete grill set (7 elements), black jogger pants, a boxed Malbec wine or a tasting of gourmet coffee and chocolates.
And lastly, within the range of $13,000 to $16,000, you can buy: a pair of urban sneakers, a 90ml perfume, a frizzy diver, an inflatable jacket, or a 925 silver chain.

“Shopping streets and avenues are preferred, followed by electronic commerce and shopping malls,” says Di Pace. Meanwhile, it is estimated that 5 out of 10 SMEs project that sales will remain the same or have a slight increase in YoY terms.
