Construction fell 4% and closed the quarter in low

The synthetic indicator of construction activity (ISAC) fell 4% compared to the same month in 2022, which is why it closed the first four-month period with a loss of 1.6%, in the year-on-year comparison. In turn, the seasonally adjusted series index rose 3.4% compared to the previous month, as reported yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC).

Among the inputs for construction, the greatest increases in relation to the previous year were: +26.7% in granite and calcareous mosaics; +8.5% in finished concrete; +8.4% in the rest of the inputs (includes taps, seamless steel tubes and glass for construction); and +2.3% in construction paints. While the biggest drops were: -24.3% in ceramic sanitary ware; -19.9% ​​in hollow bricks; -14.6% in plaster; -11.8% in ceramic floors and coverings; -8.5% on asphalt; -7.2% in limes; -1.7% in plasterboard; -1% in portland cement; and 0.1% in round iron and steel for construction.

On the other hand, during the first four-month period increases of 17.8% were observed in granite and calcareous mosaics; 14.7% in the rest of the inputs (includes taps, seamless steel tubes and glass for construction); 14.1% in finished concrete; 2.4% in portland cement; 2.1% in round iron and steel for construction; and 1.1% in plasterboard.
