Despite the early elimination of the National Team in the round of 16, the Sub 20 world left some good news for Argentina. One of them is that, during the 23 days that the championship lasted, s414,000 tourists traveled through the country, generating an economic impact of $93,713 million.
The data comes from a report prepared by the Argentine Chamber of Medium Enterprises (CAME)which highlighted that the main expenses occurred in items such as accommodation, food, internal transportation, shopping and recreation.
Sub 20 World Cup: the cities that benefited the most
Although the cities that benefited the most were La Plata, Mendoza, San Juan and Santiago del Esterovenues of the competition, tourists did not stay only in those places but also traveled from there to other locations in the case of international travelers.
According to government data, the numbers for the sector are broken down into:

- average stay of 7 days
- daily spending of US$200 each.
- Foreign visitors injected US$322 million, which is equivalent to $81,949 million.

To this is added the contributions made by FIFA in organizational expenses, which were another US$40 million.During their stay in the country, foreigners made large outlays on clothing, footwear, leather goods, and jewelry, taking advantage of the exchange difference.
Tourists from abroad were joined by 184,000 locals, who, with the trigger of the youth contest, took advantage of traveling to watch the matches and go sightseeing.
Bills
Locals spent a daily average of $16,000, with an estimated stay of 4 days and a direct economic impact of $11,764 million.
National tourists were noticed mainly in the four matches of the Argentine National Team. The numbers are not surprising considering the size of the tournament: 24 world teams participated with 504 players.

Each team arrived with a delegation of coordinators and assistants, in addition to family and friends who followed them.
The games with the most attendance were those played by the national team, which went to a full stadium, in Santiago del Estero and San Juan, and those of the rounds starting from the quarterfinals.
By cities, La Plata was one of the most favored of the tournament, because it hosted the semifinal and the final.
