The government reported that The project will increase capacity by 50%, thus generating more than 20 direct and 50 indirect jobs.

Likewise, it is estimated that more than 300 people will be employed during the construction phase of the project and, for the assembly of the plant, local suppliers will be required.

On the other hand, the project will have the benefits of import substitution for more than 110 million dollars and clearly shows the potential of our country for the production of biofuels.

Only 30% of corn is industrialized and 70% is exported without added value. “This investment is essential from the point of view of regional economies due to the generation of labor. It is key in our energy transition process to produce biofuels,” they detailed.

What is bioethanol

Bioethanol is a type of alcohol. It is obtained from different types of plants rich in cellulose, such as sugar cane, and cereals such as corn, among others.

One of the main objectives of bioethanol production is to replace fossil fuels, thus generating less negative impact on the environment.

In Argentina, the largest sugarcane bioethanol production area is in the northwest, while those that process corn are located mainly in the province of Cordoba (although there are also in Santa Fe and San Luis) – Their production is almost entirely destined for the market internal.
