The Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline will start operating on Tuesday and will be inaugurated on July 9

On June 20 the valves will open, thus starting the filling process. Then, on Independence Day, its official start-up will take place.

Through a statement, the Ministry of Economy, the Secretariat of Energy and Argentine Energy SA (ENARSA) announced that “the proposed objective was met” and that, for this reason, on June 20 “the valve will open and the process of filling the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline will begin”.

“The gas pipeline filling process responds to usual procedures in this type of system, which involves progressive phases of sweeping and pressurizing the pipes,” they stated in the text.

On the other hand, the statement indicates that “for this purpose, a schedule of qualifications and start-up of the first 573-kilometer section that connects Tratayén (Neuquén) with Saliqueló (Buenos Aires) was developed.

  • July 4 | Enabling of kilometer 145 to 285.
  • July 8 | Enabling of kilometer 285 to 570.
  • July 9 | Official inauguration of the first section of the President Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline.
