“We must end the divorce between politics and AgroBioIndustry. Let’s do things differently, without cons. The current situation forces us as citizens, as politicians and as leaders to get to work together to develop the country we want based on public policies that transcend the governments of the day.”says the president of the Barbechando Foundation, German Paats.

The organizers explain that it is not about the presentation of a plan already predetermined by a sector, but about the proposal of an analysis space that will be convened every two years, in the electoral processes, to know the proposals and needs, and find solutions. . The objective is that these policies find their space for treatment within the National Congress.thus strengthening its decision-making role in the medium and long-term agenda with a strong federal imprint and search for the common good.
In it “First Congress of Public Policies for the AgroBioIndustry” For example, cases of agrobioindustrial public policies considered successful in Brazil, Australia and the province of Córdoba will be discussed. The call aims to highlight the value of the field as a catalyst for federal and sustainable development, capable of articulating with other vital sectors of the Argentine economy such as mining, tourism, energy and the knowledge industry.
“We have several surprises prepared and we will have the testimony of prominent officials and former officials both nationally and internationally. The primary objective is to put the country ahead in the search for a common good. We also summon the presidents of the main chambers of other fundamental sectors for the local economy such as mining, oil, the knowledge industry and tourism, among others. We understand that it is not possible with agriculture alone and we seek consensus based on constructive dialogue with politicians, businessmen, officials and leaders from various sectors. Very much in the fallow style, we do partisan politics but from the initiative, always dialoguing with the entire political arc, ”he explained in dialogue with Ámbito, Manuel ChiappeDirector General of the Barbechando Foundation.
Another of the keys to the event, according to its organizers, is to plant a space where a long-term objective can be drawn and finally get out of “short-termism”. “The plan is to identify the opportunities that Argentina has, in various sectors, including agriculture, and from there transform them into public policies. The world demands food, added value, services, energy and our country can and must respond, generate foreign currency and start to grow”, explains Chiappe by way of closing.
