Russia considers not extending the Black Sea agreement

Valentina Matviyenko, a senator and speaker of the Upper House in Rudia, noted that it is “impossible” to extend the agreement on grain from the Black Sea in the current circumstances and spoke of the possibility of a food crisis in poor countries.

It should be remembered that the black sea agreement allows the safe export of grains and other products from Ukrainian ports in the framework of the war between the two countries, but, according to the Interfax agency, Matiyenko, speaking on the sidelines of an economic forum in Saint Petersburg, stated that “the limits of our patience (… ) have been exhausted”.

In this way, he echoed the comments made earlier this week by the president Vladimir Putin and other senior Russian officials. However, he also said it would be important to avoid exacerbating a food crisis for the poorest countries.
