The regional aircraft can accommodate up to 76 passengers. The flight duration is around one and a half hours.
The airport’s managing director, Norbert Draskovits, is pleased about the revival of the connection: “Winter is only the first step in the restart, in April better flight times and more flights on weekdays should follow.” Because the planned departure time from Linz at 11.30 a.m. is not ideal for business travellers.
“We use highly efficient propeller machines that emit around 50 percent less CO2 emissions and cause 50 percent less noise during take-off and landing than conventional regional jets,” says SkyAlps President Josef Gostner. Tourism Provincial Councilor Markus Achleitner, who is also Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the airport, hopes that the direct connection to Germany’s most populous federal state will also have potential for domestic tourism.
