The situation is the same in the other countries of the region: the majority of the recruiters also did not take on any person over 55 years of age in the last year. In Ecuador 74%, in Peru 53%, in Panama also 53% and in Chile 52%.

In addition to not having taken mostly anyone over the age of 55 in the last year, 55% of the Argentine respondents stated that they take age into account when selecting a new talent, compared to 45% who do not contemplate it. There is a coincidence with the response of specialists from other countries in the region: 70% of Chileans and also 70% of Panamanians take age into account in the talent selection process, in Ecuador 66% and in Peru 65%. This means that Argentina is the country in the region that concentrates the least amount of recruiters who say they consider age of people at the time of hiring.
The data comes from the latest Bumeran survey. How does talent selection work today? in which 234 HR specialists from the region participated: 53 from Argentina, 23 from Chile, 53 from Ecuador, 30 from Panama and 75 from Peru. He himself explores how relevant is the age of the talent when hiring a new employee.
What percentage of talents over the age of 45 took in the last year?
28% of Argentine specialists did not take people over 45 years of age in the last year40% only less than 5 talents, 13% more than 5 people, 9% less than 10, 4% more than 10, another 4% more than 20, 2% less than 20 and none of the Argentine respondents answered that they took more than 30 people over 45 years of age in the last year.

However, unlike Argentina, in the other countries of the region HR specialists did hire more than 30 people over 45 years of age in the last year: in Panama 7%, in Peru 5%, in Chile the 4% and in Ecuador 2%.
If it is about younger talents, the trend in Argentina changes: only 4% of the Argentine respondents did not take any person under 30 years of age in the last yearwhile 23% took less than 5, 21% more than 5, 19% more than 10, 11% more than 30, another 11% less than 10, 9% more than 20 and 2% to less than 20 people.
55% of the Argentine respondents stated that they take age into account when selecting a new talent, but 62% of Argentine specialists do not indicate the age range requested in job search notices23% confirm that it does and 15% only in some cases.
53% of Argentine specialists responded that no person in their company is over 60 years of age
64% of Argentine HR professionals say that most of their company’s talents are between 30 and 40 years old, 30% say that the majority are people between 20 and 30 years old, 6% have a majority of people in your company between 40 and 50 years old and no specialist answered for the age group between 50 and 65 years.
