The general level of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of the province of Santa Fe registered an increase of 7.2% in May in relation to the previous month, six tenths less than the national level, reported today the Provincial Institute of Statistics and Censuses (IPEC).

The report from the provincial statistical body indicated that accumulated inflation in the first five months of the year was 41.1%, while the interannual variation reached 110.7%.

Above the general level of 7.2%, the chapter “Housing and basic services” was located last May with an increase of 9.6% in relation to the previous month, according to the report.
“Home equipment and maintenance” showed a rise of 9.1%, while “Clothing” climbed 8.4 points in May, according to the IPEC price survey.
On the other hand, “Food and beverages” showed a lower rise than the general level of prices, standing at 6%.
According to the report, the chapter with the smallest positive fluctuation during last May in Santa Fe was “Education”, with a rise of 5.4%.
