The lithium industry grows and sets an all-time record for exports

Lithium accounted for 19% of total mining exports in May and, in the first five months of the year, they reached US$369 million, growing 84% year-on-year.

The lithium exports continue rising. This is demonstrated by the data from May 2023month in which a total of $60 millionwhich involved a 17% year-on-year growthmarking the historical record for the analyzed month.

The Secretary of Mining, Fernanda Ávilahighlighted: “We are working together with Sergio Massa to Generate the necessary conditions for the mining industry to take advantage of the potential that our country hasalways generating employment in the communities where it is employed and promoting the development of local suppliers”.

Lithium represented 19% of total mining exports in the month of May and in the first 5 months of the year, they reached US$369 milliongrowing a 84% YoY. In addition, the amounts exported in the accumulated showed an increase of 12.3%.

Furthermore, in the month of February By 2023, the lithium industry reached 3,788 jobsbeing a 59% year-on-year growthgenerating in a year a total of 1,406 jobs.
