JP Morgan heading for a new trial for the sexual abuse of Jeffrey Epstein

The Virgin Islands lawsuit Americans is scheduled for trial on October 23 in a federal courthouse in Manhattan.

Internal emails show that after Epstein’s arrest in July 2019 on charges of sex trafficking, JPMorgan conducted a review known as “Jeep Project” which included emails between Epstein and Jes Staleya former friend and head of private banking at JPMorgan.

Epstein had been a JPMorgan client since 1998 until the bank ended its relationship with him in 2013. In a May 26 statement, Dimon said he never met Epsteinhe had no recollection of discussing his accounts internally and barely knew who he was prior to his July 2019 arrest.

In the June 7 letterthe United States Virgin Islands said an email from an executive compliance to two others refers to a “project” sorted by “top of house” which became the Jeep Project, by Epstein’s first and last names. He was referring to a 22-page summary of emails primarily between Epstein, Staley and others.

That summary “was prepared as part of Project Jeep, which documents suggest it may have been ordered by Dimon himselfnot by the legal department and not in connection with any pending or anticipated litigation,” the US Virgin Islands said.

The revision showed that Staley was seeking Epstein’s advice on issues including his own compensation and the 2008 financial crisis., including some messages after Epstein pleaded guilty to a prostitution charge in the state of Florida. For his part, Staley admitted to being a friend of Epsteinbut denied knowing about his sex trafficking.

A Virgin Islands spokesperson said top bank executives “ignored evidence of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes”.

JPMorgan is suing Staley to cover its losses in the trials of the US Virgin Islands and Epstein’s victims.
