Most of the shares of Argentine companies listed on Wall Street (ADR) closed yesterday with increases of up to 18.5%, contrary to the general market trend in the United States, in a day without activity in the local market due to the Flag Day holiday.

The gains were headed by Edenor’s papers (18.5%); Cresud (11.1%); Irsa (9.1%); Banco Macro (5.9%); Pampa Energía (+4.6%); Black Hill (+4.5%). Only four of the shares of Argentine companies had slight falls: Tenaris (-1.9%); Ternium (-1.3%); Transportadora Gas del Sur (-0.2%) and YPF (-0.1%).
The rise was contrary to the general market trend in the US, where the main indices fell. The Dow Jones lost 0.7% to 34,056.97 units; the S&P 500 fell 0.5% to 4,388.80 units; and the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.16% to 13,667.29 units.
