The national deputy for Santa Fe Roberto Mirabella presented that project and another in which he requests the executive branch to set prices for biofuels in order to provide predictability to the productive sectors. The legislator remarked that “this project includes the proposal that I presented opportunely during my tenure as a national senator and seeks to match the Argentine biofuels policy to that of the neighboring country Brazil, a benchmark for this market worldwide”.


He also highlighted: “The productive capacity of our country in terms of biodiesel reflects an enormous potential for replace imports of diesel that translates into more Argentine employment and less use of dollars. The province of Santa Fe is the protagonist in the sector, concentrating 80% of biodiesel production”.
For his part, the second project asks the national executive power to determine the formula for calculating biofuel pricess for the supply of mandatory mixtures with fossil fuels, as required by art. 14 of the biofuels law pending regulation after 2 years of its sanction by the National Congress.
The calculation methodology to be determined must consider the entire cost structure of the sector, guaranteeing reasonable profitability and consider the other costs of its preparation, transportation and the price for the product placed in its production plant, including, but not limited to, the price of both imported and national inputs and financial costs.
