Businessmen demand a social agreement to stabilize the economy

The finance executives They assured that for Argentina it is “essential” to reach a social agreement that allows carrying out a stabilization plan for the economy.

“The short-term economic situation is complex and everything indicates that we could go to a scenario where the pressure for a devaluation will increase. And if that happens, there will be an increase in the demand for dollars and it will be difficult to stabilize the exchange market.” this possible scenario, a social agreement is essential to carry out a stabilization plan,” said Jorge Martin, president of the Organizing Committee of the 40th Congress of the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives (IAEF).

This event will be held next Tuesday at the Buenos Aires Convention Center, under the slogan “Trust: Essential Pillar for a Decisive Transformation.”

For Martin, confidence “it is a fundamental axis for any economic and social transformation, since without it it is impossible to generate the consensus that the country requires to achieve profound changes”.

During the Congress, issues related to the economic and political situation will be discussed, as well as the “fiscal tools” that the country needs to boost its development.

“These tools are institutional, to ensure predictability in the legal framework, and operational, such as specific tax incentives,” Martín explained, in statements to NA.

The leader considered it necessary for the country to have “instruments to improve investment, facilitate the hiring of personnel and mitigate the tax burden for foreign trade.”

During the IAEF Congress, The economists Hernán Lacunza and Emmanuel Álvarez Agis will speak; consultants Alejandro Catterberg, Mariel Fornoni and Sergio Berensztein and businessmen Isela Costantini (CEO of Grupo Financiero ST), Ricardo Markous (CEO of Tecpetrol), Claudio Belocopitt (president of Swiss Medical Group), Gustavo Grobocopatel (Grupo Los Grobo), Eduardo Gil Roca (PwC Argentina) and Mariela Compagnucci (Ledesma). As for the political leaders, the ambassador in Brazil, Daniel Scioli, among others, was invited.
