Compared to the last quarter of last year, when the index was 6.3%, the rate reflected an increase of six tenths of a pointexpanded the organism.
Regarding the claimant underemployment, lto people who work up to 35 hours a week and would like to have more employment, the rate reached 6.3%, below 6.9% in the first quarter of 2022 and 7.1% in the last quarter of last year.
While the “non-demanding” underemployed stood at 3.1%, a level similar to the first quarter of last year, and below the 3.8% with which it closed 2022.
Regarding the composition of the unemployed population, during the first quarter of the year -with an economy that grew 1.3% year-on-year according to INDEC itself- there was a decrease in the rate of women between 30 and 64 years of 3.7 percentage points (pp), which went from 26.6% to 22.9%.
While, males between the ages of 14 and 29 increased their participation among the unemployed by 3.2 pp, from 22.5% to 25.7%.
With reference to the last occupation of the unemployed, the increase in the participation of those corresponding to the branch of commerce was highlighted, which went from 16.5% to 21.2%, with an increase of 4.7 pp
On the other hand, the participation of people from the domestic service branch presented a decrease of 2.2 pp from 15.8% to 13.6%.
