He recalled that the agreement reached with the companies stipulates that for this month no price can increase more than 5%. Meanwhile, the basket of fixed products that make up Fair Neighborhood Prices will have a guideline of 3.8%.

During the meeting, the main issues discussed were the data on the evolution of food prices, which in recent weeks marked a slowdown in the rise in prices, as well as the rebound in the sale of sweet cookies, tomato puree and oil product of the implementation of the program, reported the official statement of the entity that presides Tombolini.

Complementarily, it was agreed to deepen the scheme by which the representatives of the retail businesses bring price lists to the secretary to verify compliance with Fair Prices by the wholesalers and other price forming companies such as Coca Cola, Arcor, Danone, Mastellone, Quilmes, CCU among others.

Regarding the verification of compliance with the program by wholesalers, during June more than 280 inspections were carried out in Diarco, Makro, Maxiconsumo, Nini , jaguar and Vital where compliance with prices and stock of products was verified.

Tombolini was accompanied at the meeting by the Undersecretary for Internal Market Policies, Gustavo Faskowicz; the director of Internal Commercial Management, Marianela Mongelós; and the director of Consumer Promotion, Gastón Alonso.
