In the two-month period of May-June 2023, the number of empty stores decreased by 14.5% compared to the March-April report. In the year-on-year comparison, meanwhile, the fall was 33.9%.
According to a survey carried out during the two-month period May-June 2023 by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC)the number of empty premises in the main commercial areas of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires registered a drop of 33.9% in relation to what happened in the same two-month period of 2022.

Specifically, during the third two-month period of 2023 a total of 195 stores for sale, rent or closed were detected in the surveyed areas. On the other hand, with respect to the previous measurement, corresponding to March-April 2023, a decrease was also detected, in this case of 14.5%since then the empty premises had been 228.


Analyzing exclusively the premises for rent and sale (that is, those offered) it is observed that, in rent there was a decrease of 25% in relation to the previous period (March-April) and a drop of 53.2% with respect to the same period of 2022, while, for sale there was a drop of 28% compared to the previous two months and a decrease of 14.3% compared to May-June 2022.

According to the measurement of the Chamber -which has been carried out since 2014-, which included the main commercial arteries of Buenos Aires, there were bimonthly advances in Cabildo (4800-5500) and Corrientes (200-6800) avenues. On the other hand, in the avenues Santa Fe (700-5300); Rivadavia (2000-2800; 4900-5400; 6300-7400; 11000-11600); Cordoba (4000-5300); and Avellaneda (2800-3800); Pueyrredón (0-1200); and in the Florida pedestrian street there were bimonthly setbacks.
