Activity grew 9.1% month-on-month in May and fell 2.5% year-on-year, it was specified. Although some items associated with the automotive chain presented slight slowdowns compared to April, all registered increases in their activity so far in 2023, continuing with the positive growth trend, considered AFAC.


When analyzing the evolution month by month, the three main segments of the auto parts business (vehicle production, parts exports and independent replacement market) show positive trends.

In May, there was a 2.1% drop compared to April, mainly due to the readaptation of assembly lines for maintenance and the launch of new models.
For their part, exports of auto parts lost 1.8% year-on-year during the analyzed period, although an increase of 5.5% month-on-month was registered.
For the replacement market segment, considering the sale of fuel as an approximate indicator of its level of activity, a rise was also observed for the accumulated January-May, standing at 3.6% year-on-year and 1.8% month-on-month. .
