Delivery services: Food inspectors find massive shortcomings

Delivery services like Flink, Gorillas and Getir are popular. But reports from food inspectors show massive deficiencies in the young companies.

It only took them 45 minutes. When the Bochum food inspectors left the warehouse of the delivery service Flink around noon on February 21, 2022, they had recorded 17 violations of hygiene rules and other laws. Her report consists of eleven pages. “Work processes in the sense of good food hygiene were not possible,” it says. The floor and several cooling devices were “dirty”, a cleaning plan was “incomplete or could not (…) be viewed”. The temperature of food such as “frozen ice cream, fish, minced meat” was not checked on the way to the customer, and dirty bicycles were parked where some food was stored.
