The food that suffered falls in the food category were: round tomato (-26.4%), orange (-25.9%), lemon (-14.5%), lettuce (-5.5%), whole chicken (-5.3%) and butternut squash (-0.8%).

Meanwhile, the products that experienced lower increases were Roast (0.3%), followed by the Delicious apple (0.4%), Buttock (0.7%), rump (0.9%) and vienna sausage (0.9%).

June inflation: how much each category increased

Within categories, there was a marked slowdown in “seasonal”, which in June registered an increase of 1.8%, compared to 6% in May and 12.6% in April. It was the smallest increase since November 2021, when it stood at 0.5%.

Meanwhile, the Regulated were located above the general level at 7.2%, the same as the CPI core with 6.5%.

From LCG, they affirm that the slowdown in June responds to a lower incidence of Seasonals that reduced the rise to more than a third (from 6% in May to 1.8% this month) and of core inflation that slowed down 1.3 pp in the month, to 6.5%.

“In the case of Regulated, it was the one that presented the greatest variation: 7.2% monthly, although it slowed down 1.8 pp compared to a month ago. This increase is explained by Electricity, Fuels, Buses, among others. They contributed 1.2 pp more inflation than a month ago”they added.
