Kelly Olmos said that the agreement with the business sector on the minimum wage “was very difficult”
The Minister of Labor, Raquel “Kelly” Olmos, revealed today that “it cost a lot” the agreement with the business sector in the framework of the meeting of the Council of the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage, which agreed yesterday to increase that income of 34 % in three tranches, which will reach 105,500 pesos this month, 112,500 in August and 118,000 in September.
“After debating a lot, an agreement was reached yesterday with 30 members, one abstention and one vote against. The vital and mobile minimum wage will reach 118,000 pesos in September in three installments, which mainly impacts the income of non-formal sectors”, confirmed Olmos this morning in statements to Radio AM 750.
“The CTA of the workers abstained and the Autónoma voted against and that is what has been happening in the different councils. What cost a lot this time is the agreement with the business sector. They asked that these percentages be applied on the basis of March and not on June as they were finally applied”, revealed Olmos.
