Craig Erlam from broker Oanda spoke of a rather disappointing start to the week, with the China data not having helped. In the second-largest economy in the world, growth in gross domestic product fell short of expectations in the second quarter. Stockbrokers are hoping for more momentum over the course of the week as the reporting season is also slowly starting in Europe.
