Wholesale prices increased 7.5% in June, above inflation

The general level of the Wholesale Domestic Price Index, 1.5 percentage points above the Consumer Price Index, registered that it registered 6% in June.

The general level of the Wholesale Internal Price Index (IPIM) registered an increase of 7.5% in June 2023 compared to the previous month, reported this Tuesday, July 18, the INDEC. This implies 1.5 percentage points above the Consumer Price Index registered, which registered 6% in June.

The rise in wholesale prices of 7.5% in June, It is due to the rise of 7.3% in “National Products” and 9.7% in “Imported Products”. The accumulated annual figure was 47.4%, while the interannual variation rose to 112.8%.

Besides, the general level of the basic wholesale internal price index (IPIB) showed a rise of 7.3% in the same period. In this case, the increase is due to the rise of 7% in “National Products” and 9.7% in “Imported Products”.

In addition, the general level of the Basic Producer Price Index (IPP) registered an increase of 6.6% in the same periodas a consequence of the rise of 4.3% in “Primary products” and of 7.5% in “Manufactured products and electrical energy”.

For its part, inflation marked 6% in June and slowed down compared to May. He Consumer Price Index (CPI) thus accumulated 50.7% so far this year, while in the last 12 months it reached 115.6%. With that data, the CPI slowed down 1.8 percentage points with respect to the previous measurement.
