All industrial sectors, except Textile, manufactured more than two years ago. Those that increased the most were Machinery and equipment (+ 66.2%), Automotive (+ 30.1%), Other transport equipment (+ 24%), Other equipment, devices and instruments (+ 20.2%) and Chemicals (+ 20.1%).
Compared to September 2020, production rose 10.1%, which represented the 11th consecutive increase in annual terms. However, it is worth noting that at the end of the third quarter of last year, economic activity was just beginning to recover from the harmful effects of the pandemic.
In this context, the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, highlighted in his networks not only the encouraging performance of production but also of employment. “We already have 35,000 more formal industrial jobs than those left by Macri,” he stressed.
The official said that the industry was one of the sectors that had the most impact on the fact that economic activity has already recovered pre-Covid-19 levels, thanks to a package of 150 implemented policies, linked to financing and the development of suppliers.
It should be remembered that in August a monthly decline of 0.6% had been observed and in July it had fallen 2.2%. Previously, in June, the sector’s activity had reached its highest level in a long time.
