The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP), through the General Tax Directorate (DGI), launched operational in the main country ski resorts across five provinces.

The body seeks reduce the levels of tax and social security evasion and increase the perception of risk in taxpayers who carry out activities in winter tourist locations.

Within this framework, a total of 45 agents of the agency in charge of Carlos Castagneto are present in the ski centers of Las Leñas, Chapelco, La Hoya, Cerro Bayo, Cerro Catedral and Cerro Castor.

The inspections are carried out in areas such as hotels, shops and gastronomic poles, characterized by receiving taxpayers with high purchasing power during the season, AFIP said in a statement.

These tourist spots are found in the provinces of Neuquén, Mendoza, Chubut, Río Negro and Tierra del Fuego.

The number of establishments on which the control tasks are focused amounts to 94, of which 43% correspond to the hotel industry, 47% to gastronomy, 8% shops and 2% to recreation, detailed the official agency.

These actions take place within the framework of billing estimates for the sector, which last year reached 1,015 million pesos.

By 2023, an increase of 114% is expected to reach 2,174 million pesos.

The inspection and control tasks of the DGI, headed by Virginia Garcia, its about electronic and face-to-face verifications on the invoicing of the firms, the payment of taxes and the means of collection, and compliance with the registration obligations of employees.
