Domestic workers: how holidays are paid
Workers in private homes who perform tasks by the hour or with a monthly contract must charge an additional fee. The current regulations emphasize that the holiday is charged 100% surcharge, that is, double that day is paid.
“During national holidays, workers in private homes have the right not to work and get paid for the day, regardless of whether they perform tasks by the hour or without retirement”explains the official site.
Another point to note is that these days are paid in arrears. In this way, the non-working days of July are charged in August, while those of the following month are paid in September.
