Global output rose by 1.3 percent to 1.89 billion hectoliters, as the world’s largest hop trader BarthHaas announced on Tuesday. This means that the pre-corona level from 2019, when 1.91 billion hectoliters were produced, has not yet been reached again. A year ago, due to the war, there was talk of a declining world market.
China with 360.4 million hectoliters, the USA with 194.1 million, Brazil with 147.4 million and Mexico with 141 million occupy places one to four. Together with Germany (88 million liters), these countries are responsible for around half of global production.
