Vizzotti considered the initiative as “fundamental” to “favor as a strategy” the population’s access to medicines and, at the same time, “take care of the pocket of citizens.”
The minister remarked that it is “an articulated policy” between all sectors and areas that is based on the pharmaceutical industry, which “is very robust and a global benchmark.”
The meeting with the press will take place from 4 pm in the Casa Rosada conference room, as officially reported.
It was announced that, in addition to the officials, Alejandrina Arauz for the Argentine Chamber of Producers of Generic Medicines and Hospital Use (Capgen) will participate; Carlos Escobar, from the Argentine Chamber of Medicinal Specialties (Caeme); Juan Marconi from the Business Chamber of Pharmaceutical Laboratories (Cooperala) and Eduardo Macchiavelo, from the Industrial Chamber of Argentine Pharmaceutical Laboratories (Cilfa).
The Ministry of Internal Commerce and the chambers that make up the main laboratories of the country reached an agreement to bring back the prices of medicines to the values in force as of November 1 and keep them fixed until January 7., within the framework of a policy to slow down the rise in prices of essential consumer goods.
