FACC in the first half of the year with more sales and higher EBIT

Group sales in the current financial year are expected to be 12 to 16 percent higher than in 2022.

Sales climbed by 31.3 percent year-on-year to EUR 354.7 million, the operating result (EBIT) increased to EUR 14.9 million after EUR 6.1 million in the same period of the previous year. After taxes, 7.98 million euros remained, in the previous year there was still a minus of 516,000 euros. This is thanks to the sustained recovery in aviation, according to a broadcast on Wednesday.

A complete recovery of the aviation industry is expected in the next twelve months, and global travel volume in some areas is already above the pre-corona level of 2019. With the ramping up of production, the workforce will now also be increased in line with the forecasts: in the first half of the year the company hired around 200 new employees this year, the number of employees was 3,117 on the reporting date, and the workforce is expected to grow by a further 400 people by mid-2024.

In the second quarter, FACC generated sales of EUR 192.0 million, after EUR 142.7 million in the same period of the previous year. EBIT this year was EUR 14.9 million, after EUR 3.1 million in the previous year. Earnings after taxes increased to 11.67 million euros, compared to 94,000 euros in the previous year.

The outlook for the full year 2023 remains unchanged. Consolidated sales should be 12 to 16 percent higher than in 2022. In terms of earnings, the FACC Management Board expects a lower but positive result for the second half of the year compared to the first half of the year.
