The delicate economic scenario that the country is going through since Monday has its correlate in the union demands. Some of the organizations that are already demanding a return to negotiations are the Association of State Workers (ATE), The bank and truckersamong others.
A union document assured that the request was raised in separate notes addressed to the Chief of Staff and pre-candidate for vice president for Unión por la Patria (UXP), Augustine Rossi; to the Minister of Labor Rachel Olmos and the Secretary of Management and Public Employment of the Nation, Ana Castellanigiven that “6.3% inflation in July, which broke the downward trend registered since the peak of 8.4% in April, and the 22% devaluation of the peso last Monday, triggers price increases and generates inflation” .

“The increase in the prices of basic goods and services hits those who have less income. This is reflected in the fact that the values of the basic baskets of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec) rise above the increase in general inflation,” said the leadership in the document.
The union also warned officials in these letters that “the markup of price makers would exceed 25%, so it is urgent to put a stop to those who for profit and speculation seek the misery of the people,” said Godoy.
He also demanded the payment of a fixed sum -what the union has been demanding since 2022- to respond to “an inadmissible reality, which indicates that there are destitute workers in the State, for which it is urgent to raise the salary bases so that no public employee falls below the poverty line,” Godoy said.
Truckers are already negotiating a new agreement
With more firepower, the National Federation of Truckers He is already negotiating a new deal. The union met this Wednesday with the business sector with the aim of reopening the parity taking into account the escalation of prices.

The fluctuation of the dollar and prices make it necessary to meet again to define the details.
Emphasis has been placed on the needs of logistics activities, postal services and removals, among others, which are in a more precarious situation.
Also, it has been raised “the importance of reviewing and modifying certain aspects of the agreement to improve working conditions in especially affected areas. Always with the aim of defending the rights and dignity of workers.”
The Deputy Secretary of Truckers participated in the meeting, Pablo Moyano, member of the Federation of Truckers. The current agreement included a staggered salary increase of 107% per year and the payment of an extra bonus of $100,000 that was paid in installments from March to June 2023. The term of the agreement was established until October 2023.
The Bank’s claim
In the same tune as ATE, the Banking Association (AB), in command of Sergio Palazzoformally requested the Ministry of Labor “the immediate reopening of the parity, as determined by the review clause signed in the last agreement.”

The leaders indicated that “it is necessary to bring forward the salary negotiation foreseen in the second clause of the agreement of last May 24, taking into account that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for July of this year has already been released.”
“It is essential to anticipate the negotiation instance in order to improve the salaries currently received by bank workers,” the organization expressed.
Palazzo and Díaz raised in the letter the need for Olmos to urgently summon the union and the business chambers Abappra, Adeba, ABA and ABE and the Central Bank (BCRA) to these negotiations “in order to maintain the purchasing power of the income before the ascending inflationary process”.
Fixed sum: Hugo Yasky’s CTA request
