Personnel problems put Deutsche Post under pressure last year, and in some places the delivery staff could hardly keep up with the work. Many citizens vented their anger at a federal agency.
Delayed parcels, letters dropped in by neighbors or items that have completely disappeared still cause trouble among the population. In July, around 3,200 complaints about postal service providers were received, the Federal Network Agency said when asked by the dpa.
That was around 200 more than in June and 100 more than in the same month last year, i.e. July 2022. Compared to autumn 2022, when an unprecedented wave of complaints reached the Bonn authorities, the level is low, in October there were around 9400 critical submissions .
In the vast majority of cases, it is about the market leader Deutsche Post AG or its parcel counterpart DHL Paket GmbH, but the frustration is also directed at competitors.
“Every complaint is one too many, and we regret if customers are not satisfied with our service,” said a spokesman for the Bonn-based group. “Even though the number of complaints is in the per thousand range compared to the billions of shipments we transport each year, we continue to do everything we can to improve our quality.”
