In the future, gas is to be fed into the grid via an LNG terminal via the pipeline. Activists of the Ende Gelände alliance speak of a climate crime.
Several dozen climate protection activists from the Ende Gelände alliance have blocked the construction site for an LNG pipeline near Brunsbüttel in Schleswig-Holstein.
The alliance spoke of around 50 participants. Gas from the LNG terminal in Brunsbüttel, which is also under construction, is to be fed into the network via the pipeline. Instead of finally getting out of fossil fuels, the federal government wants to increase its gas imports, criticized the spokeswoman for the alliance, Rita Tesch. With the construction of the pipeline, a climate crime is taking place.
Ende Gelände was primarily known for actions in German lignite mining areas, but also protests against LNG terminals. The police also arrived at the protest site east of Brunsbüttel in the morning.
