The minister of Economy and presidential candidate for Union for the Fatherland, Sergio Massalaunched this midday the tender for the reversal work of the North Pipelinewith which it will seek to give continuity to the energy infrastructure policy aimed at enhancing the production capacity of Dead cowand assured that from the next December 10 will convene a “Government of National Unity”.
“Everything happened to us in these years, criminal debt, pandemic, war, drought. We are finishing touring the way out of the crisis, what is coming for Argentina is development, inclusion, construction of a federal country, in the sum of capital and work, and to that we invite all Argentines”raised during the act that took place in the Cordoba town of Uncle Pujiowhere he was accompanied by the president of the state firm Argentine Energy (Enarsa), Augustine Gerezand the secretary of Energy, Flavia Royón.

What is the reversal of the North Gas Pipeline about?
The reversal of North Pipeline will allow to carry the gas of the Neuquén unconventional hydrocarbon deposit of Dead cow to the industries of the provinces of Córdoba, Tucumán, La Rioja, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, Salta and Jujuy. as also the household connection of those seven provinces to the networks of natural gas and the development on a scale of new industrial activities, especially the lithium miningaccording to official sources.
In that sense, Massa ensured that this decision Government will allow”take care of reserve dollarsencourage and promote Argentine work, guarantee energy supply and lower costs”. The entire reversal of the North Gas Pipeline will generate 3,000 direct jobs and 12,000 indirect ones.

The work will allow the Argentina take the gas from Dead cow to the Central and North region of the country at a cost in pesos which turns up “four times less than what is currently imported from Bolivia”. In addition, once the work is finished, there will be an annual saving of US$1,960 million for the State; a drop in the cost of electricity generation and of the natural gas for the industries of the Argentine north; and exports to the north of Chilito the center of Brazil already bolivian.
The reversal will mean an investment of US$710 million from the Government, of which US$540 million come from a credit CAFand the pipeline will be operational before the winter 2024.
The process is made up of three different works, which are complementary to the stage 2 of the President Nestor Kirchner Gas Pipeline (GPNK). The first one is the construction of a gas pipeline between the towns of Uncle Pujio and The Charlotte in the province of Cordovain the vicinity of Villa Maria, which consists of 122 kilometers with 36-inch pipes. The other two are enlargements on the North Pipeline62 kilometers and with 30-inch pipes.
Finally, the reversal of the gas injection direction will be carried out in four existing compression plants in ferreyra and Dean Funes (Cordova), lavalle (Santiago del Estero) and luminaries (jumps).
